Positive: Close to the airport but incredibly quiet and peaceful. Beautifully decorated very arty and clean. Garden area lovely. Roy goes to work early but leaves a massive breakfast in the kitchen area.
Negative: Bed was a bit creaky and much prefer king size

Negative: Connection from headboard to side boards on bed were loose. Bedding squeaky when moving. No hand towel in bathroom.

Positive: So much character to this place, like a home away from home. Really comfortable and clean. Super comfortable bed and bathroom is stunning. Huge lawn and plenty of space to sit out and have a drink. Breakfast was great the next morning we were greatly appreciate of it. Fab coffee machine too! Host was lovely and went that extra mile to make sure everything is perfect!

Positive: A real jem in a beautiful part of Douglas, near Cork. A little off the beaten track but well worth the visit. Views over the city of Cork from the endless garden - so many nooks and crannies to explore. Loved it all - especially the breakfast - which was a feast in itself. A unique experience.

Positive: This property will really positively surprise you if you are looking at staying somewhere different. Surrounded by wonderful gardens full of beautiful corners and features, quietness is guaranteed. Once you step into the house itself you will feel you are transported to another country. Amazing decoration and attention to detail create an extremely homey and cosy atmosphere. The room itself is also beautifully decorated, very spacious and the ensuite bathroom will not disappoint you either. Although Roy was away, he was extremely attentive and reachable at all times, ensuring we had a smooth check-in experience and delightful stay.
Negative: I found the bed slightly uncomfortable, since I am used to firmer mattresses, but on the whole everything was just great.
Summary: If you want to stay somewhere different in Ireland, try this amazing property

Positive: Feels like you're staying with family in a large farmhouse. We were two young women road tripping through Ireland and instantly felt at ease with Roy. He's like a kind uncle who respects your space but also makes sure you have what you need! The room (pics to come) was spacious, with a desk and pull out love seat. All the outlets had USB chargers and the room had windows on three sides offering plenty of natural light. If you are sensitive to light and want to sleep in id recommend an eye mask. The grounds themselves were gorgeous and Roy was working on them in the evening, clearing branches, etc. He lit the firepit for us which made our night as we read our books and hung out with his two dogs. Now let's talk about these adorable dogs. As a big dog lover but unfortunately allergic to them Roy had the perfect set up. These dogs roamed the outside grounds freely but weren't in the farmhouse itself. While we sat outside as the sun set we sat with the dogs but then went into a dog hair free house after. The farmhouse had the classic quirky creaks, mismatched furniture and do-dads, all while being clean and well taken care of. There were two living rooms to lounge if it was too cold for outside. The breakfast was laid out for us so when we woke we walked downstairs on our sweats and enjoyed it at our leisure. It kept us full for hours with cheese, meats, sausage, toast, jams and spreads, cereal, and fruit. Plenty of parking available as well. Very quiet estate. Roy was easy to communicate with. Only note for us spoiled American tourists, the bed is a full bed so it's smaller than our normal queen beds by quite a bit. He lists it accurately so just note this as you're booking.
